A novel formulation of an accelerated expansion of a closed universe in which
the cosmological constant decays like L =
(b/t)([a\dot]/a), where b
is a positive parameter and a(t) is the scale factor, is presented and
discussed in some details. The phenomenological decaying law is motivated from
the fractional action-like variational approach (or fractionally differentiated
Lagrangian function (FDLF)) recently introduced by the author.
